Someone wise once said, "Don't concern yourself with something that's already in the past; accept it and move on."
The quote is exactly what it means; get over it. Everyone has a problem with something that's going on around them whether it's politics or other people. If everyone abides by this quote, the world would be so much simpler. Current problems such as gay marriage can easily be solved if people would just allow same-sex marriage, gay marriage has been around for a long time and it's never going away just because some politicians won't allow it to be legal. Teenagers can relate to this; gossip is widespread among high school and obviously, it won't go away either. Things in the past belong in the past, bad problems should be forgotten. There is no time to worry about what happened in the past and it would be easier to forget about it. It's stupid to know that people are bothered by something that cannot be changed, instead, they can adjust and learn from problems; it'll only make them stronger.
I like your quote tony! We all should just move on from the past. If will only bring us down if we just dwindle in the past. When we finally let go of the past we could have a better future. I like your example about gay marriage because it doesn’t hurt anyone, so people should just let it go. Good job on your last quote. :)
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with your response to this quote. The past is the past and it should stay there. Holding grudges only makes people bitter and cause them to have a negative outlook due to their past experiences. If we concentrate too much on our past it can cripple our future. We must be strong and let things go. Like you said, we should find a way to adapt and make ourselves stronger :)
ReplyDeleteI like your quote, and I agree that people live too much in the past, they dont progress, they dont try to move forward. Just because something might be different or out of the norm, doesn't mean it's wrong, and should be fought over. If more people learned to accept, the world would be a far more tolerant place. Good post, and good topic (:
ReplyDeleteI think that while it would definitely be easier if the past was always the past and never part of the present our lives would be easier, it's just not feasible. People hold grudges, opposing beliefs, contradicting opinions. A fight about the absurdity of religion would breed contempt between the zealot and atheist and it will not be a fight the zealot will be soon to forget. Besides, how are we to learn from the past if it is not deeply analyzed? We would be bound to repeat the mistakes of those before us so while the idea is a noble one it is not for the better.
